A faint buzzing could be heard, before a loud gunshot filled my ears. I paused the game, scrolled over to the phone & proceeded to call this mysterious number. Pedestrians & cars would only spawn at a distance, doors couldn't be opened, textures appeared to be glitched & buildings had no hit detection.Īfter a while of walking around the broken map, a prompt popped up saying " has been added to your phone book". Everything about the game seemed a little off. I could get into the menu with all my saved games, but the only saves that would load were the ones with the Saint's HQ as the icon. When clicking some of the options, nothing would happen. The game managed to get to the main menu, but most of the options didn't function as intended. My curiosity got the better of me & I tried loading up Saints Row 2 again. A loud buzzing filled my ears, before the console imminently shut itself off. I was paralysed with fear as I saw a shadowy figure on my screen. As my character began getting up, my game froze. One of the zombies ambushed me from behind. The number of zombies slightly increased, leaving me with no choice but to take care of them. This unsettled me a little, but I continued to investigate. Unlike everywhere else, this area was accompanied by the activity's eerie music & sounds. I eventually found myself at the underpass in the red light district of the map. Interiors of some buildings were missing, certain objects would randomly float around, the screen slowly became brighter as time went by, & zombies would spawn on the streets nearby to attack me. When exploring, I noticed some very strange things. I began to explore the abandoned city, not really expecting anything creepy to happen. It was creepy to see a city that was once full of life become an eerie ghost town. Just like the tutorial stated, I was spawned outside of a tattoo parlor. Unknown to me, I had only doomed myself from this point onwards. This second grenade took me to an area where every texture in the game was invisible. I approached a corner to throw the second grenade to complete the escape glitch. It took a couple of attempts, but I managed to get up there eventually. I threw the first grenade behind me, aiming myself at the ledge. After what felt like an eternity of trying to get grenades, one of the zombies I killed finally dropped them. Determined to uncover this urban legend, I put Saints Row 2's disc into my Xbox & loaded up my recent save. If you managed to get on top of it, you only need one more grenade to push you into an abyss, before spawning outside a tattoo parlor. With the grenades in hand, throw them behind you near the spawn area & aim yourself at the ledge. You would then have to play it normally until you've acquired grenades, which are occasionally dropped by zombies. In order to do this, you had to enable the low gravity, invincibility, infinite ammo & super explosive cheats before entering the activity. The tutorial explained that the Freezer would only show up after you've escaped the Zombie Uprising map. Unlike most urban legends, there was actually a detailed tutorial. The urban legend was a shadowy figure known as the Freezer, an entity supposedly capable of freezing your game upon showing up on screen. It was 2010, & there was a lot of buzz about some sort of Saints Row 2 urban legend. From GTA's Bigfoot to Pokemon's MissingNo, gaming myths have always piqued my curiosity. Gaming urban legends have always intrigued me too. The Easter eggs in the game have always interested me, as well as the diverse map & the very gripping story. Undoubtedly, the best game in the series to me is Saints Row 2. I prefer the earlier games, but I don't mind playing the newer games every once in a while. Thank you!įor as long as I can remember, I've always been a fan of the Saints Row series. I hope you all enjoy reading it as much as I enjoyed writing it. If you have any suggestions on how I can improve, it would be greatly appreciated, as I'm always looking to improve. Author's Note: Hello! This is one of my first Creepypastas I've written.
